TEST PLOT MN Work Day

June 21, 2025 11 AM – 5ish PM

St Paul TEST PLOT is on the Bee Line at Lexington and Pierce Butler Rt. This is the first TEST PLOT outside of CA (https://www.testplot.info/).  This native pollinator planting is both part of local Bee Line efforts supported by Midway and Frogtown communities, and connected in spirit to the original TEST PLOT parcels in California.  Locally, this site integrates community-harvested seed and propagated plants just like the other Bee Line sites, and nurtures elements of art, architecture, science, gratitude, connection, and joy to the stewardship. 2025 brings expansion of the planting areas, and Midway residents are encouraged to participate.  Stay informed about Test Plot activities by connecting via the Bee Line newsletter signup, or reach out on Instagram @testplot.mn!

Earlier this month at the Test Plot, a local artist planted allium and brought zines for all who came. Next Saturday, the Test Plot is hoping for more volunteers to work on the garden!

Help the Test Plot expand in 2025! Volunteers will be tending the plantings by weeding, trimming, and edging native plant beds.  Then we will prepare new planting spaces by laying down cardboard and erosion control blankets to smother the grass. Stop by during our work time to lend a hand.  Water/snacks provided.  Weeding tools, sharp pruners or heavy-duty scissors, and work gloves are helpful, but not required.  Walk/bike the trails to get there, or park on Hubbard Ave or Dunlap Street.
