Over the past year I’ve been able to get more involved with the Hamline Midway Coalition through joining the Community Building Committee, attending HMC events, and getting to know others involved in HMC. As I’ve gotten more involved, I’ve seen first hand how big of an impact a group of neighbors can have on the community and I wanted to do more. When an opportunity arose to join the board, it seemed like the perfect way for me to amplify my involvement and help strengthen the community.
My Midway Moment
My partner and I moved to the Midway in 2021, mid-pandemic, and because of this we didn’t expect a ton of interaction with our neighbors. In our first few weeks here, however, many of our neighbors made an effort to introduce themselves to us and make us feel welcome. I think this perfectly captures the character of the Midway, and it was a wonderful introduction to the neighborhood.
