We're Hiring: Contract Bookkeeper
THE POSITION
This is a part-time (1-3 hours/week), contract position with Hamline Midway Coalition (District Council 11). HMC is one of 17 District Councils that serve the neighborhoods of St. Paul, MN (view a map of District Councils here). Compensation: $30 – $35/hour, depending on qualifications.
Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience

Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting practices

Understanding of double entry accounting and QuickBooks online is necessary

Must be able to work with fiscal agency funds, grants, and restricted net assets, and the roll-over of those funds from year to year
RESPONSIBILITIES

Record income and spending in alignment with designated funding pools and budget categories on a weekly basis.

Enter invoices, create deposit slips, pay open bills by check, enter bills and purchases via credit and debit card, and enter automatic debits

Enter automatic deposits from account statements and donor platform statements

Track 1099 status of vendors and request W-9 information when necessary

Monthly reconciliation of checking and savings accounts, credit card, paypal, and other donor platforms.

Run monthly financial reports.

Provide information as needed to an external accountant for the annual 990

Run 1099 reports and issue 1099s annually

Onboard new employees to payroll system

Maintain accounting digital filing system, enter the annual budget , and work with the Executive Director to adjust the chart of accounts to best meet organizational priorities

Provide bookkeeping and administrative support to management as requested for grant compliance, budgeting, grant applications, and required financial reporting
