McKenzie Reed Skaggs

McKenzie (she/her) is a registered nurse at Fairview and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology candidate at the University of Minnesota. Originally from Southern Idaho, she moved to the Minnesota in late 2025 drawn to a community that genuinely prioritizes the wellbeing of all its members, embraces diversity, and invests in shared opportunity. Her work as a nurse on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and her longtime advocacy for reproductive healthcare and the queer community have shaped a deep commitment to accessibility, equity and justice, values she sees reflected in how neighbors in Hamline-Midway care for each other every day.

When she’s not working or buried in coursework, McKenzie is an avid gardener and musician. She loves exploring the Twin Cities’ trails and green spaces with her spouse and their yellow lab, Dutch.
