I joined the board because I’ve loved Midway ever since I moved to Saint Paul in 2014. I now live in the neighborhood and have seen the beauty of the neighborhood and the challenges. Midway has some of the most interesting people and homes in Saint Paul. Hamline Park is a gem. Transit is a cornerstone of the neighborhood, with the Green Line intersecting Snelling Avenue and the A Line. I want to contribute to helping Midway be the best it can be. And meet some interesting people along the way.
My Midway Moment
My Midway Moment is more like a series of moments. I play pick-up basketball at Hamline Park on a consistent basis. I often show up to the park with no one at the courts; within 10 minutes of practicing shooting, someone will show up on a bike, someone walking from Snelling, a car full of folks will park on Thomas to join me on the courts. I love how there are always people willing to play basketball with strangers in Midway. It’s a great way to meet people and feel connected to the community.
