The City of Saint Paul is currently contracted with Eureka Recycling to pick up residential recycling. You can pick up a free recycling bin from our office, see below for details. Recyclables should be place in the blue bins and set out on the street curb by 7:00 a.m. every Thursday. All recycling in the Hamline Midway area is currently picked up each Thursday.
Single Sort Recycling
Residents can put all recycling materials into one bin – separating is no longer required!
Plastics Accepted: Most #1, #2, #4, #5 and #7 plastics are now recyclable! In addition to plastic bottles, yogurt, butter and produce containers, transparent deli and “to go” containers can also be recycled with Saint Paul’s residential recycling program. Visit stpaul.gov/recycle for a complete list of acceptable materials.
Six Community Cleanup Events
In conjunction with District Councils, the City is coordinating six separate “Community Cleanup Events” in 2015. These events will give residents an opportunity to dispose of items such as furniture and construction materials and recycle items like mattresses, appliances, electronics and scrap metal. Plus, residents may donate usable household items for reuse. All residents of St. Paul are welcome at any of the cleanup events. Date, time and location information is available at stpaul.gov/comeclean.
Organics Drop off Locations
Source separated organics are now accepted at the four local Ramsey County Yard Waste Site locations during regular site hours. Click here for details. The closest site in the Hamline Midway neighborhood is located at 1943 Pierce Butler Route, near the intersection of Pierce Butler and Prior Avenue. In addition, the Macalester Groveland Community Council also hosts a drop off location on Grand Ave. To register and find more information, visit macgrove.org.
