Our Community

The Hamline Midway neighborhood is located halfway between the downtowns of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and is home to active, engaged residents who proudly support the area’s schools, arts and culture. Gardens and towering trees line neighborhood boulevards, symbolic of the fertile and steadfast community that leads many families to live, grow and prosper here. Hamline Midway is also home to many large and small retailers whose presence makes this a vibrant, walkable community. While the neighborhood is largely residential, it also includes light industry, retail and wholesale businesses concentrated along the major routes of University, Snelling, and Pierce Butler/Transfer Road. The neighborhood also contains Minnesota's first institution for higher learning, Hamline University.

The Hamline Midway neighborhood is bounded by University Avenue to the South, the railroad tracks just north of Pierce Butler Route to the North, Lexington Avenue to the East, and Transfer Road to the West.
